By placing an order with Open Throttle, you agree to this Refund and Return Policy as well as our full Terms and Conditions. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.
At Open Throttle, we aim to provide a fair and transparent process while protecting our customers and our business from misuse and fraudulent activity.
Return Eligibility and Timeframe
• Returns must be requested within 15 days of receiving your order.
• To begin a return, email support@openthrottle.co with your order number and reason for return.
• Returned items must be unused, in brand new condition, and in the original packaging.
• Items that are installed, used, damaged, altered, marked, scratched, or missing accessories are not eligible unless they arrive defective.
• Open Throttle reserves the right to deny any return based on this policy.
• Approved returns are subject to a 20 percent restocking fee.
Mandatory Photo and Video Evidence Requirement
All return requests, defect claims and replacement requests require clear photo and video evidence showing the issue. Evidence must show the product, wiring, connectors, installation environment and the issue occurring. Claims submitted without sufficient evidence cannot be processed.
Non Returnable Items
• Custom or made to order products. This includes but is not limited to midpipes, exhaust sections, DRL kits, carbon fibre parts, interior trim and any product produced specifically for your vehicle.
• Sale items, BFCM items, promotional items and discounted items.
• Gift cards.
• Change of mind.
• Wrong model, wrong variant or incorrect item ordered by the customer.
Final Sale Clause for Certain Categories
Products containing electronic components such as LED modules, wiring harnesses, controllers, FFC cables, RGB units or any product that requires wiring are final sale once installed. These items cannot be returned or refunded after installation under any circumstances.
Fitment Responsibility
Customers are fully responsible for verifying fitment, compatibility and variant selection before purchasing. This includes chassis code, year, pre LCI or LCI, trim model and regional specification. Open Throttle does not accept returns for incorrect fitment assumptions or incorrect variant selection.
Return Shipping Requirements
• All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the issue is due to a confirmed manufacturing defect.
• We do not provide prepaid return labels.
• All returns must be shipped to our headquarters in Australia.
• Unauthorized returns will be refused.
• Customers are responsible for all shipping costs including the original outbound shipping, even when free shipping was offered.
• If free shipping was given, the actual shipping cost will be deducted from the refund amount.
No Returns After Installation
Any product that has been installed, mounted, wired, connected, fitted, test fitted or attempted to be installed in any way is strictly ineligible for return or refund. Tool marks, bent pins, scratched surfaces, heat exposure, or altered connectors indicate installation or installation attempt and void eligibility.
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
• Inspect all items immediately upon delivery.
• If an item is defective, damaged or incorrect, notify us within 48 hours with clear photos and a description.
• Items installed before reporting an issue are considered accepted and cannot be claimed as damaged or incorrect.
• If a replacement is approved, the defective item must be returned in full. Missing parts void the eligibility for replacement.
Testing Fee for Non Defective Returns
If a product is returned claiming a defect and is found to be fully functional after testing, an additional 20 percent testing and handling fee will be deducted in addition to the restocking fee and shipping deductions.
Refunds
• Refunds are only issued for approved return cases.
• Refunds are processed to the original payment method unless store credit is chosen.
• Once a returned item is inspected, you will be notified of approval or denial.
• Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days.
• If your refund is delayed beyond 15 business days, contact us.
Cancellations
If your order has not shipped, you may request a cancellation by contacting us immediately.
• Cancellations are not guaranteed.
• If the order has been packed, handed to the courier or shipped, it cannot be cancelled.
• Approved cancellations are issued as store credit at 100 percent of the purchase value unless otherwise stated.
• Custom made or production in progress orders cannot be cancelled.
Improper Installation and Damage Disclaimer
Open Throttle does not cover damage caused by improper installation under any circumstances.
This includes any damage caused by incorrect wiring, forced fitment, over tightening, incorrect polarity, bent pins, damaged connectors, torn FFC cables, heat damage, electrical shorts, aftermarket coding or changes, or any damage occurring while opening headlights.
Products showing signs of improper installation, tampering or misuse are ineligible for refund, exchange or warranty support.
Professional Installation Requirement
Many Open Throttle products require technical knowledge and specialised tools.
Professional installation by a qualified technician is required for warranty eligibility. DIY installation or installation by a non qualified person voids refund, return and replacement eligibility.
Keep your installation receipt as proof if support is needed.
Quality Control Statement
All Open Throttle products undergo strict quality control.
Each item is fully tested, inspected and confirmed working before shipment.
This ensures that legitimate defects are extremely rare and helps us determine whether an issue occurred before or after installation.
Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
We aim to resolve all issues directly with customers. Filing a chargeback prevents us from assisting.
If a chargeback is filed:
• We will dispute the claim with full evidence including QC testing, tracking and communication logs.
• We reserve the right to recover owed funds through third party collection services.
• A USD 200 chargeback processing fee will be applied to cover administrative and dispute preparation costs.
• Accounts with unresolved chargebacks may be blocked from future purchases.
Open Throttle Right to Reject Any Return
Open Throttle reserves the right to approve or deny any return, refund or replacement request at our discretion based on this policy and the evidence provided.
Warranty Claims Are Separate From Returns
Warranty claims and refund requests are separate processes.
A warranty claim does not guarantee a refund. Warranty outcomes may include replacement or repair only.
Shipping Issues
• We are not responsible for stolen packages after delivery is marked complete.
• If theft is suspected, contact the courier directly.
• Packages lost in transit will be replaced at no cost. Refunds are not provided for lost in transit cases.
• Packages returned due to incorrect addresses or failure to collect are the customer’s responsibility.
• Reshipping fees apply to all return to sender cases.
BFCM and Seasonal Sale Policy
During high volume sales events:
• All BFCM and promotional items are final sale.
• No cancellations, returns, exchanges or order modifications are accepted.
• Prices cannot be adjusted retroactively.
• Discount codes cannot be added after checkout.
